LOCUST PLAGUE
Millions of people in East Africa, the Middle East and Asia are at risk of hunger due to rising swarms of desert locusts. The insects are threatening pastures and crops wherever they go. Locusts eat almost all crops, and in one day a swarm covering one square kilometre can consume the same amount of food as 35,000 people.
