‘My spaghetti joke upset Jamie Oliver so much, I was told to apologise!’

“I presented TV Burp for 10 years, from 2002 to 2012, and I think, generally, we were quite nice on there, but I was obviously very rude about a lot of people in the sketches I did.

Jamie Oliver was veryseries – which I think he’d probably admit was not one of his best! It was a show where he was trying to get everyone cooking at home, so he was saying, ‘If you tell two friends to make spaghetti bolognese tonight, and they tell two friends how to make spaghetti bolognese, 4,000 people will be making spaghetti bolognese tonight,’ like pyramid selling.
