‘I’M STILL LEARNING TO LOVE MY BODY’

She’s welcomed three kids, each seven years apart, so it’s safe to say that Kate Hudson knows the post-baby body struggle quite well. But after welcoming daughter Rani Rose in October 2018, the 41-year-old Fabletics founder was determined to sensibly lose, and keep off, 12kg post-pregnancy to reach her 56kg goal weight. “Unlike with the other two, I didn’t really have time to work out,” she says. “It took a different kind of discipline.”

The actress turned to Pilates and at-home workouts and admits she now feels stronger. “I know I’m strongest when I’m doing my Pilates because it never gets easier,” Hudson explains of her go-to workout. “The more you do Pilates, the harder the things you can do become. I love how flexible I feel and I like what it does to the shape of my body.”

Here, Hudson chats exclusively to WHO about her body after baby, her activewear brand and why confidence is key …

Has your relationship with your body changed since becoming a third-time mum?

Yes it has! I’m continuing to learn to love my body in the moment and embrace the change, listening to what my body really needs. My priority is to focus on balancing health and wellness as part of my lifestyle, instead of setting strict goals.

What’s your go-to workout when you’re strapped for time?

Pilates has been my go-to workout for years now. I see the most results from it. I do love to change up my workout to keep it fun, whether it’s my favourite Brazilian Butt Lift class or at-home dance session. For me, even if I’m strapped for time, I try to stay as active as possible.

What was the inspiration behind Fabletics?

My goal was to build an inclusive community that encourages women to lead an active lifestyle and to be the best versions of themselves. We didn’t want to be an intimidating
