Rare visitors

Rosy starlings – gorgeous birds that are usually rare in the UK – have recently been spotted across all four home counties. Very similar to regular starlings in size and shape, these birds also gather in huge flocks. The primary difference – which gives them their name – is their pink ‘vests’ they have on their fronts and backs. They spend most of the year in Eastern Europe and Asia, only occasionally visiting Western Europe and the UK. Keep an eye out and let us know if you catch sight of these beautiful birds.
