MANY OF THE BENEFITS of kindness are because of how it feels. In fact, the feelings induced by kindness produce what we might in which dog owners interacted warmly with their pets for 30 minutes, the owners’ oxytocin levels soared by 300 per cent. This is one of the reasons research shows the risk of mortality within one year following a heart attack is an amazing 400 per cent less in dog owners! Of course, walking the dog helps as exercise, but the loving bond between animal and person plays a role.
