Heaving a heavy box along the path, I huffed and puffed.
‘Here, let me give you a hand,’ a friendly voice behind me said.
‘I’m Leslie Moore, I live across the road,’ he said.
It was spring 2010, I was 13, and me and my mum Linda, then 54, had just moved into our new home.
Leslie insisted on helping us lug our boxes inside.
‘What a gent,’ Mum smiled as she made him a brew.
