Love cooking indulgent dishes? Help offset the effects by, showed the subjects had lower levels of inflammation markers after the meal, compared to when they ate the same dish without spice. Inflammation markers can spike after a meal that’s high in fat or sugar. Chronic inflammation is linked to conditions including obesity, cardiovascular disease and cancer. The scientists believe the benefits are due to the anti-inflammatory properties of the spices.
