a stinking hot, windy day. Too hot to hunt. We’d been told the day before that the mercury was going to climb up to 40oC. Andy Campbell and I were in SouthWest Qld. We decided to sit in the shade of a couple of trees, situated about 200 metres from a dam, and wait hopefully for the pigs to come in for a drink. This dam was in a slight depression, in a scrubby paddock in which the swine took cover. However a good 200 metres around the dam was open and would provide a good view of what came and went from the water.
