t’s interesting that such a small string of remote islands has had such a large impact across the planet. Before Hawai‘i became the 50th state, fancy restaurants routinely offered “dolphin” as their specialty fish of the day. After statehood, the spirit of aloha spread around the world, and now mahimahi is offered everywhere. The sport of surfing is likewise shared by water people everywhere.
