Doggone cool!
Old car restorers and tinkerers find inspiration in all kinds of unlikely places. Tim Hollowell found it in an old black-and-white kids’ TV show.
Hollowell is a Ford Model T guy and owns four of them, but he wasn’t quite sure what to do with the 1915 roadster pickup he bought off eBay in 2013. It was a cool old truck and Hollowell put in a bunch of work to get it running just right, but there was still something missing. The old Tin Lizzie wasn’t the eye-grabber that Hollowell was pining for. Somehow, the “wow” factor was missing.
“The truck was looking good and running great. But, at shows and parades, it got little attention, and I never cared much for the pickup truck body,” he says. Then Hollowell got a bright idea.
