MORE than three months into the Emergency Measures Agreements (EMAs) which suspended the normal financial mechanisms of franchising, figures show this support has cost taxpayers around£3.5billion so far.
These EMAs are in place for a minimum of six months, and by the end of September will have cost the Government £7bn. Then what? Will they be extended?
