Raj Kapoor started ‘JDMGBH ‘ after the lukewarm reception to his experimental film ‘Ab Dilli Dur Nahin’ released in 1957. The theme of a dacoit saga was narrated by Raj Kapoor to music director Shankar who initially reacted by saying that such a film would have little scope for music. Later on, he changed his mind and along with partner Jaikishan , composed one of the most memorable soundtracks
