    LMS and GWR share top honours as steam and diesel relics battle it out in Great Northern auction

    THE LMS and GWR shared top honours in Great Northern’s rescheduled two-week postal, email and telephone sale that ended on April 18, although modern traction forced its way into the spotlight.

    The top realisation in the auction, which replaced the original March 28 live sale, was £6000 from Jubilee No. 45713, with from No. 4983 in its slipstream at £5350.
