Over the last 13 years, I’ve moved back and forth between my home in Dundee, Scotland, and the island of Sal in Cape Verde, West Africa.

I’m a Scottish girl born and bred, but a big part of my heart lies in the Atlantic Ocean.

Whilst living in Cape Verde, I fell in love with the culture, people and the beauty of the island.

And after noticing the extreme levels of poverty there, I started taking donations to charity.

From flip flops to pants and toothbrushes, I made a tiny difference.

Then one day in 2017, I was talking to a child with a sore mouth.
