New Volvo gets ready for the road

Last issue I introduced my new Volvo 340. That feature concentrated on the model and the search, plus initial impressions of the car I purchased. I got it from Mathewsons auctions and it came with no history whatsoever, but I have built up a picture in my own mind of its progression through life.

With only a shade over 50,000 miles clocked, absolutely no modifications whatsoever and a virtually unmarked interior, I suspect it must have been either a second car or a retirement purchase. It looks immaculate on the outside too, but has clearly had some paint and repairs in places which look to be after superficial scrapes and bumps. These culminated in a Category N
