What are your first memories of Scotland?

I’m a slightly nomadic character: my parents were an Army couple and I was born in the English Midlands. My mother’s family have deep roots in Scotland, right back to the Stuart kings. If I know a piece of Scotland best, it’s East Lothian, where my mother had family, but we spent holidays in the Outer Hebrides – on the beaches of South Uist where we used to chase
