Certified Delicious
This past December, Certified Louisiana® hosted a contest in partnership with Louisiana Cookin’ to find the best recipe prepared by students at the Louisiana Culinary Institute in Baton Rouge. At the judging ceremony, students prepared dishes for a panel of judges that included Louisiana Cookin’ editors and Louisiana chefs who are LCI grads. The judges tasted their way through the entries in each of the contest’s four categories and were impressed by the creativity and skill of the participants.
Entries were required to include products from Certified Louisiana®, with bonus points awarded for using more than one Certified Louisiana® product or pairing a beverage featuring a Certified Louisiana® product. For a product to be eligible to use the logo, it must be made, grown, manufactured, processed, produced, or substantially transformed in the state of Louisiana. Purchasing products with this logo helps support Louisiana businesses and families while stimulating the local economy. Products from Sugar Land Pecans, Mushroom Maggie’s Farm, and Tony’s Seafood were just a few of the Certified Louisiana® items used by participants in the contest.
