‘BEING PART OF A PAIR GIVES YOU CONFIDENCE AND A SENSE OF SELF’
Nicola Allen and her identical twin Donna Baguley are 47. Nicola is a commercial manager for a packaging company, and lives with her partner Lawrence and their three children. Donna, a teacher, is married to Ian, and also has three children.
Nicola says My earliest memory of the special connection between Donna and me was when we were eight. I experienced a sudden headache so severe I had to lie down. At that moment Donna had gone over the handlebars of her bike and was on the ground with a bump on her head. This ‘twin-sitivity’ has happened the other way around, too. When I was in labour with a little boy, whom I sadly lost at birth, Donna suffered from sudden-onset back pain.
