Killer robots
It was meant to be a comforting statement – the sort of soothing, rational thing a responsible adult would tell a child frightened of the dark: “Ladies and gentleman, I have news for you: the robots are not taking over the world.” The responsible adult here was Amandeep Gill, the Indian ambassador for disarmament, at a press conference marking the end of a recent five-day summit of the UN Convention on Conventional Weapons. And the scary thing that Gill was reassuring us about?
