“There are no painters like Mr. Michelangelo, not anymore,” muses a lovably dense soccer star in the dreamy and borderline farcical opening moments of Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidt’s debut feature . The inventive, genre-hopscotching fable’s overture whisks us down from some dodgy CG images of the cosmos to a simultaneously more mundane and more impressive drone survey of a contemporary sort of Sistine Chapel, a soccer stadium.
