A lukewarm serving

A22-year-old woman taps her fingers distractedly on a kitchen table in small-town America and, in a burst of self-loathing energy, leaves for New York City. That’s Tess, who bears a startling resemblance to the main character in Alita: Battle Angel, her eyes CGIed to anime-level proportions. Upon arrival, she lands a trial in a prestigious New York restaurant based on Union Square Cafe in its heyday, a white-tablecloth place that serves “guests”, not customers.
