The Brits Are Back
I TRAVELLED TO PORTUGAL EARLIER THIS YEAR TO experience Triumph’s entry-level Modern Classics, the Street Twin and the Street Scrambler, in the towns and hills around Lisbon. I returned quite impressed with both the Bonneville-inspired machines, and am now putting the Street Scrambler through its paces on Indian roads to see how it fares in our demanding conditions. The bike you see splashed across these pages is one of the first to make it to our shores, and is loaded with several parts from the Triumph custom accessories catalogue, making the experience that much sweeter.
The Street Scrambler is the more rugged-looking of the entry-level Bonnevilles, and is designed to invoke memories of the scrambler culture that was all the rage through the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s across the US and the UK.
