Two models of integrity get Hall passes

For Derek Jeter, there was never any doubt. For Larry Walker, there was a ton.

Somehow, however, the pair wound up as the only 2020 Baseball Hall of Fame electees selected by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

Jeter, on the ballot for the first time, got all but one of the 397 votes cast, while Walker, on the ballot for the last time, squeaked over the 75 percent finish line by six votes.

Now they are teammates, as shown when they donned Hall of Fame jerseys for assembled media members at the Manhattan Meet & Greet of the Hall of Fame at the St Regis Hotel on Jan. 22.
