AN EVOLUTION NOT A REVOLUTION
P&G, Football Federation of Australia and the National Liberal Party in Brisbane lead a list of new client wins made in 2018 by Starcom. Coupled with key client retentions including Samsung, Snooze and Subaru, the agency now boasts a client list with several heavy hitters.
The 200–strong team across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane is led by CEO Toby Barbour, who stepped into the top job in 2016. It’s been a busy few years for Barbour, who has been quietly carving out the agency’s proposition, while making key strategic appointments in its leadership team.
There have been several new hires this year alone along with promotions of Graeme Wood to national head of futures, which saw Sally Christian, who formerly managed the Suncorp strategy team, take his role. Nancy Lan and Sev Griffiths also became Sydney MD and national commercial partnerships director, respectively.
The business also has a healthier diversity ratio than some rivals, with its leadership team sitting at a 55:45 male to female ratio.
