QR ‘Cranky/Ruff’ Freight

Most general-type goods/freight is loaded into covered/ box wagons to protect the items from the elements. Some items will not fit through the doors of these wagons, so book lists freight that should not be covered with a tarp. Most of this type of freight does not require protection from the weather. Some standards show some freight types must be loaded into open wagons. In recent times freight that cannot be stacked onto pallets is called ‘cranky’ or ‘ruff’ freight.
