Over one million people in Australia currently receive aged care services. By 2050, this number is expected to rise to more than 3.5 million.
This is a time of significant change for the aged care sector and the people and organisations that are part of it. According to the government website, agedcare.health.gov.au, “The changes to aged care that commenced in 2013 are aimed at ensuring the best outcomes for older people and for the organisations that provide aged care services, both now and in the future.”
In October 2018, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the Terms of Reference for the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. This follows more than 5000 often disturbing submissions received
