THROW A DISCUS

AS the excitement starts to build both here and around the world for Tokyo 2020, a name to watch out for in the lead-up will be discus and hammer thrower Matthew Denny. The 23-year-old Queenslander made his Olympics debut at the 2016 Games in Rio and is steeling himself for an even better showing at his second appearance on sport’s biggest stage.

Denning’s star has been rising for a while. He claimed two medals at the 2013 World Youth Olympics and won silver in the hammer at the 2018 Commonwealth Games held on the Gold Coast.
