Q Now it’s getting darker and chillier outside I’m less keen to get outside and exercise. How can I motivate myself to do it?

A The colder weather and short days can affect a lot of people when it comes to motivation for exercise. If you feel it’s the lack of light that makes you less inclined to stick to your routine it may be worth investing in a home light simulator to mimic an earlier dawn when you wake up. Light therapy (in the form of an SAD lamp) mimics natural daylight which can help you feel more energised, as well as boosting mood, so it may help.
