THE CLASSIC CAR movement is based more on nostalgia than anything else, be that real or imaginary. Let me explain. A friend of mine has a 1950 Morris Oxford; that’s the MO, or the Inflated Minor. And it’s now a very old car. In fact it was already ancient when I was born, and most of them had already been scrapped along with similarly aged Consuls, Wolseleys and Hillmans and all the rest.
I’m not sure if my friend has hit 30 yet, but he’s buying into a lifestyle
