It’s almost impossible to imagine Whoville’s Christmas-hating saboteur, the Grinch, as any colour other than green, but the villain of Dr Seuss’s book was initially black and white with red accents! We have Chuck Jones, the director of the 1966 animated movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, to thank for the palette change.
While producers actually wanted Benedict Cumberbatch to use his own English accent to voice the green grouch in this remake, the Oscar-nominee refused, declaring:
