Despite competing in more Round the Island Races than I can remember, I’ve never taken line honours. But this year changed that.
Climbing aboard the fastest boat in the 1,253 boat fleet, the 32m Ultime trimaran Actual Leader improved the odds on being first home, especially given the boat’s pedigree. Formerly Sodebo and skippered by Thomas Coville, she had set a new solo lap of the planet in 2016.
