Maiden wins Ocean Globe Race

Maiden, the iconic former Whitbread Round the Race yacht, has won the 2023/24 Ocean Globe Race. In doing so skipper Heather Thomas and team become the first all-female crew to ever win an around the world race.

was the fifth yacht to finish the last leg of the Ocean Globe Race from Punta del Este, Uruguay into Cowes, UK, arriving on 16 April. However, by 22 April it was clear that no other yacht could beat them on IRC corrected time – their closest rival stuck in light winds – granting the overall win.
