10 TIPS for better synth pads

1 Attack, attack

Pad sounds can be most simply created using the amp envelope on your chosen synth. If you have a great sound that you want to pad out, it’s usually a case of increasing the attack and sustain times to lengthen the time a sound comes in and stays around. So if you have a great sound that you want to make into a pad, simply play with the ADSR. Pads are easier than you might think.
