    The upcoming HBO limited series, Watchmen, extends the world and characters that were created in writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons’ 12-issue DC Comics classic that ran from 1986-87. Showrunner/executive producer Damon Lindelof credits the graphic novel with inspiring his writing career. Now, hoping to honour the source material, Lindelof’s narrative picks up in 2019 and continues the exploration of an alternate-reality United States, one in which superheroes operate as part of our everyday reality.
