Chronicles Of A Summer Hunter

WITH the coming of Summer, a lot of hunters oil the firearms, put them away and break out their fishing rods to pursue a more leisurely pastime. While I am not that keen on hunting deer during summer, the fact is my calendar becomes very busy. While I fish for Murray Cod in my area fervently, my passion for hunting doesn’t ease off one iota. This past festive season, my nephew, who had acquired a new .17HMR, was itching to go rabbit hunting

THE day we arranged the hunt was a pearler, 47 degrees in the shade, I had no intention of wandering too far from our vehicle. A phone call revealed there were a few rabbits getting about and luckily, the old house was unoccupied at present and, yes, the air conditioner had been fixed, so things were looking up from the start.
