Olympus is promoting itself as the champion of the Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera format, announcing a number of new products which clearly emphasise the benefits to be derived from the smaller sensor size.
The new OM-D mirrorless system flagship is called the E-M1X, and it represents a significant step up from the E-M1 Mark II – which remains in the OM-D line-up – in just about all areas of durability, speed, functionality and performance. As a camera for sports and action photography, the E-M1X refocuses attention on the compact telephoto lenses that are made possible by the M43 sensor size.
