Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe taken over
African Parks, a conservation charity set up by Prince Harry, signed an agreement with the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority on 1 November 2019 in terms whereof African Parks will take over the management of Matusadona National Park for a 20-year period.
Matusadona is situated on the southern shores of Lake Kariba and was once a stronghold for the endangered black rhino. Due to poaching and mismanagement, however, Matusadona’s wildlife has suffered badly over the past decade or so.
Matusadona National Park is 1 480m²
