TOMATO-AND-HERB PASTA SAUCE
This rich, fragrant home-made tomato-and-herb sauce is a true Italian classic.
Makes: 2-3 jars
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
♥ 25ml olive oil
♥ 1 medium onion, chopped
♥ 3 cloves garlic, crushed
♥ 2 x 425g cans Italian plum tomatoes
♥ 25g tomato paste
♥ 10ml dried Italian herbs
♥ 10ml sugar
♥ handful of fresh basil, thinly sliced
1 Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion over a low heat until soft. Add the garlic and sauté for a further minute.
