Garlic is a rewarding and easy crop to grow and has an incredible flavour, making it very popular in a variety of cuisines. It varies in colour from white to pink and purple and has different strengths of flavour, from mild to strong. When buying garlic to grow, it’s advisable not to buy from supermarkets, as these are not certified disease-free varieties. Instead, buy from a garden centre or by mail order. At RHS Garden Harlow Carr, we get our garlic from a specialist garlic farm on the Isle of Wight.
