The great thing about shooting and fishing is that when one season closes, another opens. The two go together like roast beef and mustard, strawberries and cream, topped off with Stilton cheese and a fine port.
When it came to deciding what’s in and what’s out over the course of a year, God got it absolutely right. His timing was perfect. Who else would’ve put partridge and duck shooting on the menu for the start of September, draw a veil on trout and salmon fishing
