KATATONIA

VENUE ISLINGTON ASSEMBLY HALL, LONDON

DATE 25/05/19 SUPPORT WHEEL, CELLAR DA RLING

Hailing from Helsinki, Wheel deal in Tool-esque progressive metal, all savage riff and sonic adventure. Three-quarters of the band are Finnish, but vocalist/guitarist James Lascelles is English, and is clearly very excited to be, his vocals range from honeyed croon to full-on scream, and while the songs are excellent – and well-executed – there’s a definite lack of movement and showmanship onstage. Expect bigger things once they find their dancing feet.
