    The Steelers made a couple of midseason plucks off opposing practice squads and, at the risk of having to keep them on the 53-man roster for three weeks, Kerrith Whyte and Deon Cain appear to have a chance to become long-term finds.

    Both Whyte and Cain played well in minimal playing time against the Cincinnati Bengals after one week of cramming with the Steelers.
