It is interesting to see how, every season, the menswear designers set themselves the task of reworking tailoring to make it desirable especially to new generations, because there will always be a twentyyear-old in need of a suit at least once in his life. The words of Kris Van, which in past seasons has already accustomed us to variations of every kind, from sportswear to military to tech, and sticks to these same areas for next winter too. The focus is on certain disciplines, such as motorcycling or trekking or exploring the retro side to activewear, or else drawing inspiration from ’60s and ’70s subcultures such as Mods or Punks. The reason designers are so into sport at the moment is perhaps because it curries favour with those new generations who have such heterogeneous, fickle taste.
