    AUTOMATIC SIDE-DOOR OPERATION

    We love our Vantage Sol, but the thing that annoys us most is having to slam the side door to close it. Many motorhomes have an auto soft-close facility, but it was not an option on our Ducato. Can we have this mechanism retrofitted?

    Jack replies Fiat’s own system would be relatively easy to retrofit; it might be worth enquiring at your local Fiat LCV dealer, or searching for a salvage system from vehicle dismantlers. Another idea would be to try your local Citroën Relay and Peugeot Boxer main agent; often, they will help when Fiat is unable to.

    A Dutch dealership, ,did retrofit the Fiat system, but I think that now they may only do it for owners of Pössl and Globecar motorhomes (for which they are agents). Might be worth sending them an email, but remember to say
