Talk about leaving things to the last minute. Our long-term Bailey Advance 76-2T is due back early in 2020, so time was running out to give it a thorough test.

I had, of course, already spent time in it when the whole team decamped to Eye Kettleby Lakes in Leicestershire in the spring of this year. But that was only a short stay, and on that occasion, I didn’t drive the vehicle at all.

So before the ’van was returned to Bristol, I thought, how about a more substantial tour? A trip of several hundred miles? Yes.
