    It had been a tough few months for Jovi Pilapil with the breakdown of her turbulent marriage, but she was feeling more determined than ever to start building a new life for herself – whether her estranged husband, Alexander Villaluna, liked it or not.

    New Year, New Beginnings! she’d posted on her social media on 1 January, 2016.

    It was to be a fresh start. Nurse Jovi, 39, had separated from Alexander just two months earlier.

    Both originally from the Philippines, they’d met in New Zealand while studying nursing.

    Jovi had two children from a previous relationship.
