Heavenly tarts

ur room at Les Clos Frères Gris, near the beautiful city of Aix-en-Provence, overlooked a sunny courtyard. Each morning, we could hear the chink of china as the tables were set for breakfast. Our hostess at this lovely B&B was Caroline, a brilliant cook who created a buffet laid out with pastries, cereals, creamy yogurt from a local farm, seasonal fruits and jams, and, always, a wonderful eggy dish to set my husband and me up for a day of exploring.
