Tenerife is the largest and most populated of the eight main Canary Islands. Known affectionately as the ‘Isla de la Eterna Primavera’ (‘The Island of Eternal Spring’), it’s garnered an international reputation for year-round sunshine. Stepping off the plane I was immediately enveloped in a warm hug of sunshine. Having left a grey and grizzly London behind just a few hours earlier, I could feel my sun-deprived skin singing out with relief.
