OFF THE SHELF

No matter which foodies you follow on Insta, or how tempting the images in your feed, sometimes all you want when you get home from work is a quick and tasty supper – especially when you’re tired, hungry and haven’t managed to fit in that mid-week shop. Enter Tin Can Magic: Simple, Delicious Recipes using Pantry Staples by Jessica Elliott Dennison (Hardie Grant, £15).

‘The idea for this book is pretty simple,’ says Elliott, the cookery author who runs Edinburgh’s neighbourhood café, supperclub and workshop space 27 Elliott’s. ‘It’s an everyday guide for transforming those trusty tin cans from the back of your cupboard into something special. The brilliant thing about having a few staple tins around is that you’re never far away from rustling up a quick, simple meal.’
