LOVE NOTES
As one of fashion’s most original and maverick editors, Carine Roitfeld has captivated the world with her singular vision of French style: a sensual-meets-punk-rock aesthetic made up of sharp tailoring with high heels and a mysterious je ne sais quoi. Currently global fashion director, Roitfeld spent the first decade of the new millennium as editor-in-chief of Paris and in 2012 launched , a biannual magazine devoted to showcasing fashion trends and top designers from around the globe. More recently, she was tapped by over a green tea at Le Royal Monceau hotel in Paris. It’s fashion week and she’s come straight from the Balenciaga show. “[The fragrance was] a very long project that I started around the time I left , so it’s been maybe eight or nine years. It was a long process because I wanted seven fragrances — seven lovers — and it’s not my full-time job! To me, perfume is the ultimate accessory — it’s the last accent you put on. You dress and then, in my world, you put the perfume on.”
